Job Description

The Warehouse Person is responsible for carrying out the cooperative’s policies and procedures regarding materials management, inventory controls, purchasing, and the warehousing of materials. A perfect candidate for this position would be an individual with a great attitude along and a passion for purchasing and managing the warehouse inventory.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  • Have an adequate and orderly supply of materials to meet the construction, maintenance, and operational needs of the cooperative available.
  • Maintain cooperative buildings, grounds and work areas to be conducive of an efficient and safe work environment.
  • Daily supervision of non-inventory duties, approval of timesheets, vacation schedules, etc.
  • Local purchases of non-inventory items.
  • Maintenance of personal tools and rubber glove inventories.
  • Housekeeping and safety issues along with minor facility maintenance and janitorial duties.
  • Maintain summary of district activity as directed.
  • Provide vacation coverage or assistance with major projects to warehouse person in other locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform annual and spot inventories of materials.
  • Prepare and submit reports and information showing results achieve in assigned areas.
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications - Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.

Be a High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience in inventory management highly desirable.
Knowledge of RUS electrical utility construction and work order procedures desirable.
Possess and maintain a valid NC driver’s license with safe driving record.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Be able to move materials with the use of hand trucks, pallet jack or motorized forklift.
Ability to implement work plans, make sound decisions from observations and carry out instructions.
Be a self-starter with an attitude of neatness, timeliness, orderliness, and accuracy.
Must be available to work in adverse weather conditions when necessary.
Live within 20 miles from assigned office except for “on-call” employees with approved remote capabilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
